This is amazing. This poem was published in Teen Magazine in the very early 70's under my then name Jean B. Smith. I wrote it when I was fifteen. I was searching for another poem of mine which was published in Teen, but couldn't find it. I decided to put "A Love to Call My Own" in the search engine and found it on several sites. There are probably a dozen people claiming authorship. You can't control the internet, so it's not going to stress me out. I was just astonished to find it still out there.

By the way, I still write. I'm a newspaper columnist now. Thanks for bringing back a memory for me. It will also be the subject of my next column. :)
