I am dual-degreed in Marriage & Family Therapy (Nova SE Univ) and psychology (Cornell Univ). I have 10 years of post-graduate training, and 32 years experience. In addition to therapy, I have been a professor at a number of universities, including Tulane, Cornell, Harvard, and LSU.
About two thirds of my clients are couples - married or not, straight or gay. Overwhelmingly, they come to me to help repair damaged relationships, and I have have had very good success with them. Infidelity is the most frequent proximal cause of the relationship problems. Sometimes I help parents who are having difficulty with their teen-age children.
The balance are individuals who are plagued with a wide range of problems, including depression, anxiety or panic, self-esteem problems, family conflicts, or general dissatisfaction with the trajectory of their lives.
I normally practice brief solution-focused therapy, and I often add a pinch of my own techniques, as well as some from other systemic schools of family therapy. I am usually able to help people to build solutions within 5-9 weeks. I cannot remember seeing a client for more than 10 weeks.
My fees are the lowest in South Florida, among therapists with comparable training and experience. In addition, I offer discounts to returning combat veterans, elderly people on fixed pensions, and those under severe financial stress because of long-term unemployment.
My clients come from the area between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, most of whom live in Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Boca Raton, and neighboring towns.
